Can you tell us about your background and how you got into this line of work?

Acne was a big struggle for me in high school and college too. I tried all drugstore products and even took medication. Eventually, I got into makeup to hide my imperfections. I later started freelancing as a makeup artist and really loved it because with makeup you can enhance that person’s appearance. I found that I wasn’t the only one struggling with skin issues and wanted to make an impact in giving someone’s confidence back. I took a makeup gig at Massage Heights for their launch party and found out what Aestheticians were! Before this, I had no idea they existed! I realized I wanted to understand the skin better and help others transform their skin from the inside out. I quickly became fascinated with the industry, skin health, and skincare ingredients and decided to leave college for Paul Mitchell!  At the time, it was crazy to leave college behind, but my family was SO supportive of my transition. It’s now been six years as a licensed aesthetician, and I can’t imagine doing anything else! 

What is your specialty or area of expertise in esthetics?

I specialize in both acne and age management.

What inspired you to pursue this specialty, and what do you love most about it?

My own struggle with acne led me to become an Acne Specialist. I love giving someone’s confidence back and guiding them on their skin journey! I myself know it’s not an easy task to have patience, especially with social media around. It’s easy to compare and get caught up in unrealistic expectations of how our skin “should” look.

What are some of the benefits of the treatments you offer, and what do clients typically experience during and after treatment?

I treat acne and offer numerous benefits with microchanneling, such as improving skin texture, reducing pigmentation, clearing acne, and promoting a healthy glow. During the treatment, clients may experience a mild tingling sensation as tiny channels are created in the skin. This process stimulates collagen production and enhances the absorption of Procell’s stem cell serum. After the treatment, clients often notice improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and a more youthful appearance. Procell is my go-to treatment to offer to my clients after their acne treatments to help minimize scarring and promote skin rejuvenation. 

Can you share any success stories or memorable experiences with clients that highlight the impact of your work?

I think being with any client is a beautiful experience, but my favorite memories are with my acne clients. I love being able to be there with them every step of their journey. Building trust and providing support is key. It’s truly a privilege to have clients who trust me wholeheartedly. One of my most memorable success stories is with an acne client who came to me feeling insecure and frustrated. She had already been on quite a few medications from her dermatologist and was even recommended to get on Accutane. However, she was hesitant to try and was looking for a more natural and holistic approach to treating acne. After consistent treatments and personalized skincare, her skin transformed beautifully. She regained her confidence and self-esteem. Seeing her and many others’ confidence soar will always be incredibly rewarding.  

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your approach to esthetics or your work at Procell Therapies?

Working with Procell Therapies has been one of the best decisions I made for my business. I’m able to treat acne scarring, texture, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines/wrinkles. The results that are achieved with microchanneling are nothing but amazing!

For over 23 years, Marcella has been a licensed practitioner and has made an indelible impact in the industry thanks to her exceptional skills. We had the honor of interviewing her to learn more about her journey.

Can you tell us about your background and how you got into this line of work?

I have been an esthetician for over 23 years, I grew up with a mother who was in paramedical esthetics. Since I was a young child I have been immersed in the world of beauty. She is from Spain and we would travel every summer on a quest to find the most effective, groundbreaking new therapies, treatments, machines, or products on the market. She was very particular and not easily impressed, and only brought the best back to her clients in Abu Dhabi, UAE where I grew up 12 years of my life. I was definitely influenced by all of this coupled with my journey of getting older (especially throughout my 40s). I became passionate about finding effective anti-aging treatments that would yield real, visible results with minimal to no downtime, and as an alternative to fillers and surgery. There are so many women out there who want a more natural approach to look their best, in corrective anti-aging and preventative treatments. I have a few different technologies I offer, and one of them is microneedling, but I wasn't offering it as an option for my clients because I was not seeing any real results. I always take before and after pictures to measure results, so if I don't see anything in a picture after a few treatments, I'm not going to ask my clients to invest in it.

What is your specialty or area of expertise in esthetics? 

My specialty and expertise is in helping women look 10 years younger without surgery, filler, or lasers.

What inspired you to pursue this specialty, and what do you love most about it?

My own journey with getting older is what inspired me. I had begun getting fillers in my late 30s and began noticing how it was changing my face and how strange I looked in pictures. I just wasn't looking like myself, and I prefer to look natural in whatever I have done. So my determination was born to offer services where I place women on customized protocols to reverse aging in their specific areas of concern. I offer many different techniques and technologies to achieve lift and collagen production, etc., and Procell has been a game-changer in helping me fast-track results for clients. It saves time, and it doesn't require a huge time commitment. I look more like myself now at almost 50 than I did in my early 40s.

What are some of the benefits of the treatments you offer, and what do clients typically experience during and after treatment?

All treatments I offer stimulate collagen production (the client's own, nothing is ever injected), firming and redefining the jawline, tightening the skin, smoothing skin texture, and overall creating glowing, youthful skin. I would say that the first thing clients notice is a new glow and luminosity to the skin, which is youthful in and of itself. 

Can you share any success stories or memorable experiences with clients that highlight the impact of your work?

I only began to offer Procell back in May of this year, but the best part of it is showing women their progress pictures each time they come in. It's fascinating to see their eyes look younger, brighter, and more rested. Because results take 30 days to fully develop, sometimes women don't realize exactly how much progress they've made until they see their pictures. Then it's like, "Wow!" And I love it when I check in with clients after each treatment and they tell me how amazing their skin looks already!

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your approach to esthetics or your work at Procell Therapies?

I firmly believe that one of the biggest secrets to aging well and reversing the clock is to keep inflammation down in treatments. And that's my focus- nurturing the skin for better results. I don't believe in needing harsh treatments in order to obtain results. In fact, I think this hinders results. And that is what I love about Procell- it's about stimulation, not inflammation. That is why I believe the results are so profound!
